Description of Courses Instructed Art Appreciation (online) In the fall of 2007 I developed an online Art Appreciation class using the logicampus for Tarrant County College. I have since uploaded the class into the Dallas County Community Collage system using Blackboard and I am currently teaching the class for both districts. In addition to this I taught an online Art Appreciation course for the University of North Texas. This was a course for non- majors developed by Kelly Donahue Wallace with an enrollment of 500 students. I oversaw five graduate teaching assistants who assisted me with grading.. Although I interacted with the students on a daily basis my role was primarily that of an administrator. Art Appreciation (traditional) Art Appreciation students are taught the elements and principles of design, media and processes of art, and a brief survey of art history through lecture, PowerPoint presentations, video, and fieldtrips. Drawing I Drawing students are introduced to the basic elements of drawing. Assignments include media experimentation, gesture, contour line, value, mass/volume, perspective, and foreshortening. Drawing II In Drawing II the basic concepts of Drawing I are reinforced through more advanced assignments. The students are introduced to color and complete a series of six drawings in which they develop a personal style. Ceramics I Ceramics I students are taught handbuilding techniques with a brief introduction to the wheel. Ceramics II Ceramics II students work almost exclusively on the wheel and are introduced to glaze chemistry. Ceramics Portfolio Portfolio students work with me on a contract basis.
